House Maintenance Upcoming Weekend

I hope all of you are having good summer thus far! As I stated to some of you in the past, we will be having a house maintenance weekend for the dates of July 27th through 29th. With that said, we will be performing such activities as landscaping, cleaning, painting and other things. We will also be renting a dumpster for this weekend as well so that we can clean out the garage and get rid of any broken furniture taking up space. If you have any additional ideas of activites that we could do this weekend, please feel free to let me know. Please try to let me know by next weekend if you will or will not be able to attend the event. Thanks and I look forward to seeing all of you!

2007 Business Meeting Update

Due to the number of alumni attending this meeting, there will be an additional Lead IV Seminar from 9:30am – 12:30pm on Sunday February 11th. The session is titled “Associating with your Greek Organization after Graduation” and is being run by National. This regional meeting is open to seniors and young alumni, and I urge everyone attending to take advantage of everything this weekend offers.

It has been very time consuming planning this meeting, but it has been rewarding as well. The positive response I have gotten has been overwhelming, and I want to thank everyone who has emailed me with words of encouragement. (If I haven’t answered you email yet, I apologize, I will be able to as soon as the event wraps up).

It’s not too late to sign up! Please RSVP at joshua_t_rogers@yahoo.com.

TNT Lunch
Sunday February 11th, 12:30pm

Following the LEAD IV session, I would like to get past and present TNT’s together for lunch. Let me know if you’re interested in joining us.

Major Website Updates

The website received a major upgrade this evening. The first thing that you probably noticed was the new color scheme and a welcome message from the new House Corporation President, Joshua Rogers.

What you might not have noticed, yet, are the Forums and the Gallery. As of right now, there isn't a lot of content in either of those places, but we are counting on you to help us change that.

I appreciate any feedback that you may have, and look forward to hearing from all of you

Sigma Nu Active's Strategic Plan

Thank to the diligent work of a number of actives, there is a new strategic plan to not only suvive, but thrive in this new collegiate environment. As you can see, there are many aspects of this plan to help improve not only the brotherhood itself, but its standing in the college and the student's eyes. I would like to thank the Strategic Planning Committee Members for creating such a great plan and moving forward with its implementation.

Allen A. Dubbs Memorial Food Drive

The actives had a memorial food drive for Mom recently. Here is the summary of what occurred.

Allen A. Dubbs Memorial Food Drive was a great success. We collected food from both administrative as well as academic offices. The food we collected will be donated to the (south central community action programs) or SCCAP. SCCAP is a non-profit organization which coordinates a number of human-service-projects to aid low income families in the area. Among them are the food pantry which has women’s and children’s nutritional programs and shelters which require food to feed the inhabitants.

From the March 2005 Edition:

" David Sheriff (Gettysburg) lost his 14-month-old son Timothy in 2003, as a result of a stroke. While he and his wife Judith were coping with their grief of losing Timothy, they agreed tobe medical foster parents to a set of twins from Haiti. They were already experienced adoptive parents, having previously adopted 12 children into their blended family."

50th Anniversary a success

Based on the comments that I have heard, I think we can call the 50th Anniversary Celebration a success. There were almost 200 Brothers and guests in attendance for the weekend, which is just awesome. I didn't have a working camera with me so I couldn't get photos, but I saw a lot of others clicking away. Please feel free to upload any photos that you have so everyone can enjoy them and experience more of the great nostalgia from the weekend!

I put the Alumni Directory online. This is a pretty early version but most of the functionality is there. Please let me know if you have any problems with it by sending a private message to csteelatgburg (find name in Members List and click the envelope looking icon).

In order to view the Directory you need to be a member of the site and be added to the Brothers group, which I have to do manually.
