Welcome
On behalf of the Zeta Sigma Chapter House Corporation, I would like to welcome you to the new home of Zeta Sigma Chapter Alumni! For many of you, it’s probably been a long time since you’ve even thought about Zeta Sigma Chapter. For some, the state of the house in the past few years may have discouraged you from becoming more involved. To be honest, after I graduated I had no desire to give either my time or money to the chapter. But that has changed, because the chapter has changed. We have a great group of guys in the house who are dedicated to turning the house around. They have created a new strategic plan for the house (which can be found on this website), and they are determined to work with the alumni to bring the house back to its former glory. Our chapter has come to a deciding point and alumni involvement is now more important than ever.
As Sigma Nu brothers, we all have had many different college experiences. Some of you may have lived at the 43 West Broadway, many of you may have had the honor of living with Mom, and others may have had the pleasure of living with an updated kitchen with dishwashers. But one thing stays constant; we all try to live up to the three pillars of Sigma Nu. I invite you to get reacquainted with the house. Check out the website, read the newsletter, stop by the house, and contact me with any thoughts, ideas, suggestions, or criticisms.
Very soon, we will be starting the largest fundraising and rejuvenation effort that we have ever undertaken as a house. It will require all of us to rethink what it means to be a Zeta Sigma Alumni, and be willing give what we can for the good of the house. We are all at different stages in our lives, and we can all help in different capacities. Those of us who are recent graduates who cannot give much monetarily can give our time, our knowledge, and our support. Those who live far from the chapter can help critique resumes and help with career counseling. Those who are more established but don’t have the time can donate.
If you have read the Life Safety Initiative overview, you would know that we need to raise at least $70,000 for the house to be up to par with the fire code. I know that this may sound like a lot of money, but we are an established chapter with a large alumni base. If just 500 of our alumni donated a mere $140 dollars to the Life Safety Initiative Fund, we would have enough to save our house. Soon the site will be set up to take donations via Paypal for your convenience. Please consider this; a $12 donation per month would be all it would take to ensure the house’s survival.
As I said above, all I ask is that you think back to your time as an active brother and remember why you joined. The ideals of Sigma Nu are important to all of us and I hope that you all help in any way that you can. Thank you very much and I look forward to hearing from you all with questions or comments on how we can help the house reach its full potential!
Fraternally,
Joshua Rogers
